EASYLOADER TAIL LIFT FOR UNDER £1000

Penny Hydraulics has reduced the price of its popular Easyloader Tail Lift to just £995. This new price makes the Easyloader one of the most competitive tail lifts in the 3.5 tonne vehicle market (EasyloaderLandRover.jpg - 157830 bytes). Penny Hydraulics has reduced the price of its popular Easyloader Tail Lift to just £995. This new price makes the Easyloader one of the most competitive tail lifts in the 3.5 tonne vehicle market (EasyloaderNissan1200.jpg - 81020 bytes).

Penny Hydraulics has reduced the price of its popular Easyloader Tail Lift to just £995. This new price makes the Easyloader one of the most competitive tail lifts in the 3.5 tonne vehicle market. Robust and reliable construction, light weight, unique cantilever action and column-free design combine to ensure the Easyloader is suitable for a wide range of light commercial vehicles including vans, pickups, 4x4s, off-road and utility vehicles. It helps owners and operators comply with manual handling regulation and reduce the risk of personal injury or damage to the load and vehicle.

“We believe this makes the Easyloader the best value in the market and that nothing else comes close in terms of price or performance,” says Richard Short, Sales Director at Penny Hydraulics. “Our aim is to make safe and efficient load handling available for all light commercial vehicle users.”

The Easyloader can handle items weighing up to 550kg in delivery, service and engineering applications. Its unique design incorporates the advantages of a cantilever platform lift and has no under slung columns, ropes or chains. This promotes reliability and eliminates the risk of components grounding out or being damaged underneath vehicles with low clearance or when driving off-road. The cantilever action moves the platform away from the vehicle as it lowers to the ground which means that standard towbars can be fitted and used without any modification to the vehicle. This action also eliminates the potential risks associated with toe-trapping. Hydraulic power ensures smooth, precise and controlled operation for assured load handling.

Designed and manufactured by Penny Hydraulics, the Easyloader is supplied as standard with static controls, battery isolation switch and hydraulic overload protection for optimum operational safety. An optional backup hand pump is ideal for applications where failure of the vehicle’s power could result in it being stranded in a dangerous or immovable position. Remote controls are also available.

Penny Hydraulics offers a fitting service at modest additional cost and offers bespoke design with a number of options for customers with unusual requirements. All products are supported by a nationwide network of service engineers. Alternatively, the Easyloader can be supplied ready to install by the customers, bodybuilder or vehicle converter.

“The fact that all our products are designed and manufactured in the UK means we can take advantage of efficiencies of scale and improved production methods which we can pass on to the end user,” says Richard Short.

ACME SELF STORE STORES MORE WITH MEZZ LIFT

Acme Self Store has increased storage capacity at its site in Burntwood, Staffordshire by installing a Mezz Lift from Penny Hydraulics to handle items between the ground and first floors. The Mezz Lift allows Acme Self Store to handle larger and bulkier loads safely and efficiently between floors with no need for manual handling and eliminating the need to carry items up stairs. This means the company can make better use of the upstairs storage space without additional construction work.

“Without the Mezz Lift we would struggle,” says Judith Randle, in charge of customer services at Acme Self Store. “We can now use more of the storage rooms on the first floor as we continue to build the business.”

Acme Self Store is a successful business offering a range of self-storage services to private and business customers. The building comprises a number of individual lockable storage rooms on the ground and first floors. Customers include individuals who need temporary storage for household items while they are away or moving home as well as businesses who need to store all sorts of items temporarily or long-term. As the business expanded the company wanted to use the first floor storage areas with greater flexibility. This was impractical because larger items could not easily be carried up the narrow stairs and inefficient because of the time spent carrying items between the two floors. As a result, first floor storage was mainly used by customers with small and easy-to-handle items which meant the available space was not always used efficiently.

“We needed a lift to raise items up to the first floor,” says Judith Randle. “This allows us to make better use of the storage rooms.”

Acme Self Store realised that a lift would provide a solution. It had a good idea of the sort of device it wanted and approached a number of suppliers, including Penny Hydraulics, to discuss its requirements and find out more about the costs. Penny Hydraulics suggested that its Mezz Lift would provide the ideal solution for lifting loads up to 250kg between the two floors which are three metres apart.

“The Mezz Lift clearly provided an ideal solution and the price attracted us to it,” says Judith Randle.

The Mezz Lift has been installed on the ground floor and is surrounded by a safety cage to prevent unauthorised people from approaching the unit when in use. The standard steel platform is ideal for the boxed loads that need to be handled between floors.

Compact design minimises the Mezz Lift’s footprint without restricting the available storage space and working area. It is available in a range of configurations with a maximum working load of 250kg at heights up to 4.0m. Bespoke versions are also available to meet customers' specific requirements. Robust construction using steel components ensures the Mezz Lift can be installed indoors or outdoors for reliable and productive use.

Self-contained hydraulic power provides smooth and precise operation with no need for a floor pit. The Mezz Lift is supplied with its own motor pump unit and can be installed in any location where there is a standard 240V 13A mains power supply. The lifting speed of 0.5m/s means that a four metre distance between the ground floor and mezzanine is covered in just eight seconds. A unique hold-to-run system promotes safety by stopping the lift whenever the control lever is released. Additional safety features include overload protection. Interlocked gates that prevent entry to the working area while the lift is moving are available as an option.

As its business continues to grow, Acme Self Store is looking to add more capacity to the Burntwood depot. The company has recently asked Penny Hydraulics to add some side frames to the lifting platform of the Mezz Lift so that it can handle non-boxed items more easily. These frames will allow unusually shaped and unstable items to be handled safely and securely so that Acme Self Store can make even better use of the first floor rooms.

“Anytime we have had a problem or needed some help Penny Hydraulics has been out very quickly,” says Judith Randle.

VICTORY WORKWEAR GETS A LIFT

Commercial laundry Victory Workwear is making better use of the available space at its Aldershot site after installing a Mezz Lift from Penny Hydraulics. The Mezz Lift is used to handle a variety of wet and dry garments and other items between the ground floor laundry and first floor finishing and stores area. This greater handling flexibility has allowed Victory Workwear to increase the variety and size of loads while reducing the need for manual handling.

“The Penny Hydraulics Mezz Lift stood out and does exactly what we want at much less cost than other products we looked at,” says David Kelly, Director of Victory Workwear. “It was difficult to move items between the ground and first floors before we had it.”

Based in Aldershot, Victory Workwear offers a range of commercial laundry services to customers in the area. Items are washed on the ground floor of the company’s 8000ft2 (744m2) laundry before some items are transferred in tubs to the first floor for finishing and preparation for return to customers. Dried items are then handled in roll cages back down the ground floor for despatch. Although the company has a rail system this does not fully support the flexibility needed to handle a growing variety of loads between the two floors three metres apart. The company also wanted to make better use of potential first floor storage areas by making it easier to cope with general items without handling them manually.

The company approached Penny Hydraulics and other potential suppliers for a solution. It selected the Mezz Lift because it offered a practical and cost effective solution to the requirement which involved minimal disruption to the ongoing operations in the laundry.

“The Mezz Lift was very simple to set up and is easy to use,” says David Kelly. “It works exceptionally well.”

The Penny Hydraulics Mezz Lift is a robust and versatile platform lift for handling all sorts of loads up to 300kg safely and efficiently between two floors such as ground floor and mezzanine level. It offers users a cost effective way to comply with manual handling regulations and reduce the risk of injury to employees. The entire handling process can be undertaken by a single person using the Mezz Lift without any manual lifting to promote safety and productivity.

Compact design minimises the Mezz Lift’s footprint without restricting the available storage space and working area. Robust construction using steel components ensures the Mezz Lift can be installed indoors or outdoors for reliable and productive use. Self-contained hydraulic power provides smooth and precise operation with no need for a floor pit. The lifting speed of 0.5m/s means that the three metre distance between the floor and mezzanine at Victory Workwear is covered in just six seconds. A unique hold-to-run system promotes safety by stopping the lift whenever the control lever is released. Additional safety features include overload protection. Penny Hydraulics supplied the Mezz Lift with interlocked gates to prevent entry to the working area while the lift is moving.

Penny Hydraulics has made safe and efficient commercial vehicle load handling a lot more affordable by pricing its popular Easyloader Tail Lift at just £1595 until the end of 2007. This special offer price makes the Easyloader one of the most competitive products of its type in the 500kg handling capacity range. The Easyloader is ideal for handling loads up to 550kg on pickups, 4x4s, off-road and utility vehicles because its unique cantilever action and column-free design ensure there are no components underneath the vehicle that can snag on the ground during off-road driving. It is also suitable for other commercial vehicles including Luton and box vans where its robust construction and light weight offer life-long reliability without compromising payload capacity.

“The unique design of the Easyloader combined with the exceptionally low price makes safe and efficient load handling accessible to many more customers with service, engineering and delivery applications,” says Richard Short, Sales Director at Penny Hydraulics. “We’re pricing the Easyloader to be very affordable in this competitive market.”

The Easyloader is a lightweight and compact tail lift for loading commercial vehicles with items weighing up to 550kg. Its unique design incorporates all the advantages of a cantilever platform lift and has no under slung columns, ropes or chains. This promotes reliability and eliminates the risk of components grounding out or getting bent underneath the vehicle during off-road driving. It also makes the Easyloader an ideal choice for pick ups, Lutons and box vans where ground clearance may be less than on larger vehicles. The cantilever action moves the platform away from the rear of the vehicle as it lowers to the ground which means that standard towbars can be fitted and used without any modification to the vehicle. This action also eliminates the potential risks associated with toe-trapping. Hydraulic power ensures smooth, precise and controlled operation for assured load handling.

Using a tail lift for loading and unloading helps owners and operators to comply with manual handling regulation and reduces the risk of personal injury or damage to the load and vehicle. Designed and manufactured by Penny Hydraulics for versatility across a wide range of applications, the Easyloader can be installed with minimal impact on the vehicle's floor space while its light weight means it has little effect on payloads. As with all its products Penny Hydraulics offers a bespoke option where the customer can specify the finish of the tail lift and platform type to provide users with complete flexibility to specify the right solution for their requirements.

The Easyloader is supplied as standard with remote and static controls, battery isolation switch and hydraulic overload protection for optimum operational safety. An optional backup hand pump is ideal for applications where failure of the vehicle’s power could result in the pickup being stranded in a dangerous or immovable position.

The special offer price is for supply of an Easyloader ready to install by the customer or their bodybuilder or converter. Penny Hydraulics offers a fitting service at modest additional cost.

The Tyre Lift provides users with a versatile and cost effective alternative for lifting and lowering loads covered by the current manual handling regulations. These recommend that the manual handling of anything but the lightest loads is avoided, especially where work involves repetitive tasks. The maximum weight recommended for manual handling under any circumstances is now 25kg for men and 16kg for women.

All Penny Hydraulics products are designed and manufactured in the UK to meet exacting quality assurance standards for safe, economical and reliable performance with long maintenance-free service intervals. Solid construction with steel components promotes durability and provides excellent protection against corrosion and wear.
